It’s good to be back - Swimming Cycling Running
As a very social club the COVID period has been both difficult and challenging for people to stay focused on training for races that have been pushed out or cancelled, but thanks to our creative Clubmates, technology and some coaxing through inter Club competition we have managed to keep in touch with most of our membership.
As always the safety of our Club mates and families and the community at large has always been the focus of our dedicated committee and to this aim, most of our face to face training for the last number of months has been cancelled.
In order to return to club training, there are a number of steps the Club has to take to ensure the safety of participants going forward for all events for the foreseeable future.
The first is for any member to attend a training event they must first fill in a Training Attendance form. This form allows you as a participant self check your health and wellbeing in relation to COVID, it also enables the COVID Officer to keep track of people attending events should there be a COVID case amongst any club member or an associate of that member, this will aid in the contact tracing should it be necessary.
This form should be filled in on the day of the event before you meet up with any other clubmates. The form must be filled in for every event, training meetup or group swim.
The data collected from this form will be confidential to the COVID officer in line with Triathlon Ireland guidelines.
Who are we
Tri-Lakes triathlon Club was formed in 2009 when a group of like-minded enthusiasts were preparing for a season of long-distance swimming and then a few bikes were bought and it all started from there.
With a little experience, a lot of sore bums, a few mistakes and a lot of heart, gradually the club grew from strength to strength with a committed committee driving the club forward and with more members gained more experience and less sore bums and fewer mistakes!
Today the Club has more than 100 members ranging from pensioners to pre-schoolers! and has vast experience from 4 world championship Ironman qualifiers to long-distance swimmers to ultramarathon runners to people who don’t know their gears from their goggles.
